Nude 005

The companion to Nude 004, Nude 005 moves closer to the figure. A bent knee dominates the frame, the white fishnet pattern turning skin into contour and surface against an expanse of black.

Kroes works in a fashion-nude tradition shaped by high contrast, controlled pose, and theatrical restraint. Here, the photograph refuses narrative. It gives the viewer line, light, and the physical pressure of a cropped body held at the edge of abstraction.

The figure becomes almost abstract: flesh translated into contour, mesh, and light.

Where Nude 004 carries the body across the frame, Nude 005 compresses it. The closer crop makes the image denser and more tactile, concentrating attention on the curve of the leg, the tension of the pose, and the repeated geometry of the stocking.

Born in Germany and self-taught, Kroes has built a contemporary practice between editorial fashion and fine art. This print gives that background a quieter form: not spectacle, not portrait, but a precise study of the body as shape.
