Private Ritual
Private Ritual finds Coco Nady in a freestanding bath at the edge of a room left open to the tropics. The glass doors are pulled back, a black balcony rail runs behind her, and beyond it a wall of green fills the frame.
Aleksandr Kosmos photographs the moment as if it were happening unobserved. She is turned away, ponytail falling down her back, arms resting on the rim of the tub, foam still on her skin. He frames her through the dark edge of the doorway, so the viewer stands where a guest would, just outside.
Stillness as the subject: warm water, gray daylight, and nowhere else to be.
The white tub fills the lower half of the picture, its curve answering the curve of her back. Glass, railing, and palm leaves stack up behind her in layers, all of it lit by the soft, even light of an overcast day.
Collection Note
An open-edition print on Pro Platinum glossy fine art paper, signed by Coco Nady and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
